we cabbed to play after guzzling all that toxin and the queue was so long! fuck. but we eventually got in but it was so packed cb. but i guess it didn't make a difference for us. my head was throbbing so i couldn't even diva at all.

Christmas. i spend mine this year with dinner with family (didn't wanna be guilt tripped again) then topo-ed (literally) to chris yeh's house to sort of celebrate Nic's bday but we ended up watching I Am Legend kudos to joey b4 i had to leave. not a very social setting but it could be worse =)

Gerard picked me up b4 we headed to Play. 15 bucks cover which completely does not justify the shitty music that night. omg. it was so boring so i left early after failing to sneak levin and chris in 'coz the bouncers came back! ugh. consequently, i didn't cam whore much. no mood. anyway, i'm getting kinda tired of clubbing. perhaps it's time for a hiatus.

btw i suspect something is wrong with my liver. 2 bailey shots, 1/3 bourbon coke jug and 2 whiskey shots and i wasn't even flushing. now i can add liver cirrhosis to the list of possible diseases i'll die from. merry christmas indeed.

it's christmas eve again. every year i keep telling myself that i need to observe this sacred tradition to give it the respect it deserves but year after year i sorely fail. for the record, it is no fault of mine. there is no festive cheer in the house because my family (most notably my dad) does not celebrate christmas. ostensibly ironic for an ostensibly christian family (i am of course not referring to myself) but to my dad it is the mark of a true christian.

we do not exchange presents on the grounds that "present exchange is demonic" *recoil in mock horror*. the only tree we have at home is the one of Calvary, which has its place outside my door all year round and not just on christmas. we do not wish each other Merry Christmas because that is secular. instead, we are encouraged to say "emmanuel, god with us".

my mum has been very fond of reminding me lately not to forget the birthday boy while in the midst of my christmas revelry. it would have been poignant if jesus really had his birthday on Dec 25.

christmas is an excuse to let your hair down. give in to the compulsive shopper in us. catch up with old friends. binge. feel good. and then comes the new year for the feelings of guilt and half-hearted resolutions.

if people wanna talk about jesus, i think Easter's a better time for that. after all, his death and not his birth was the significant issue. although if you wanna be pedantic, you can say that if he was not born, he would not have died. but that's just semantics, which is the true demonic act. the devil can quote scripture for his own purpose.

what irks me most is the duty! once every 3 weeks, i will be incarcerated in camp effectively from sun night to the next wednesday night, following which i will have off till monday afternoon. the key word here is IDEALLY. knowing SAF, ideal really is just an ideal. sigh. i can't see him for so long! =(
